Aluminium radiators
Author: Rointe
✅ Aluminium radiators ✅ heat quickly, have great thermal conductivity and high corrosion resistance. Plus are a lightweight, easy install heating product.
Nowadays there are many materials in the development and manufacture of radiators, such as steel, cast iron, stone or aluminium.
Aluminium radiators make the best electric heating product because they have high corrosion resistance, quicker heat up times with high heat output and are lightweight.

Aluminium is one of the most abundant materials on the planet, coming in third place behind other common chemical elements, oxygen and silicon. It’s the most widespread metal on earth, covering about 8% of the Earth’s core mass.
Aluminium is lightweight, durable and functional. You can find it in almost every aspect of your daily life. From the home you live in, the car you drive, the trains and aeroplanes you use for long-distance travel, the mobile phones and computers you use on a daily basis, to the food and beverage containers in your fridge. About 75% of the aluminium produced in the time that the aluminium industry has existed is still in use today.
Aluminium offers a rare combination of valuable properties:
- Lightweight – almost 3 times lighter than iron
- Durable – almost as strong as steel
- Ductile – easy to process, doesn’t magnetise and easily forms alloys with other metals
- Corrosion-resistant – due to a thin surface layer of naturally generated oxide coating
It’s also a brilliant conductor of heat, which is why it’s a great material for the manufacture of radiators.
Aluminium can be easily processed using pressure both when it’s hot and when it’s cold. It can be rolled, pulled and stamped. Aluminium doesn’t catch fire, it doesn’t need special paint and unlike plastics, it’s not toxic. In addition, aluminium is more cost-effective than other metals and materials and can be easily recycled. All of which is why we’ve chosen to make our electric radiators from this fantastic, high-quality material.

What are the advantages of aluminium radiators?
Thermal conductivity
Electric radiators operate through convection, where the thermal fluid or oil inside the radiator body is heated electrically, circulating in a convection current around the interior of the radiator. This then allows the aluminium radiator shell to conduct heat into the room, also using convection where cold air is introduced at the bottom of the radiator, warming as it passes over and around the heated aluminium fins.

One of the main advantages of manufacturing electric radiators from aluminium is the high level of thermal conductivity it offers in relation to its weight. The cost/conductivity ratio is 209 W/m.K, which makes it a natural choice for heating products and radiators, as it can conduct heat faster.
For example, aluminium radiators transfer heat from the water or oil inside a radiator to the room air much faster than steel radiators. This means that they require less heated water from the boiler and will be faster to respond to changes in the room heat requirement, hence reducing any wasted heat and energy consumption. Steel radiators have inferior qualities in terms of thermal conductivity and lower specific heat than aluminium.
Impermeable & resistant to corrosion
Aluminium is impermeable, meaning it does not allow water or liquid to pass through it. The metal itself is non-toxic and odourless, which makes it ideal for packaging sensitive products such as food or pharmaceuticals, and in the manufacture of electric radiators.
Aluminium is also corrosion-resistant. That’s why it’s the perfect material for canned food or beverages, aeronautics and of course, in the manufacture of heating systems and electric radiators. It naturally generates a protective thin oxide coating which keeps the metal from making further contact with the environment and corrosive agents.
Different types of surface treatment such as anodising, painting or lacquering can further improve this property.
At Rointe, we offer a wide range of colours and finishes on our electric aluminium radiators to help make them as resistant to corrosion as possible. We use various artisan techniques such as high gloss, powder paint coating and oxidization to ensure a durable finish that lasts as well as an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Recyclable
Aluminium is ductile and has a low melting point and density, therefore it can be manufactured and recycled easily.
Recycled aluminium is identical to the virgin product. This makes it a much more cost-effective source material for production runs. The re-melting of aluminium requires little energy: only about 5% of the energy required to produce the primary metal initially is needed in the recycling process. This makes it an ecological product to use for radiators.
The fact that recycled aluminium can be used in the manufacture of Rointe electric radiators reduces our carbon footprint in the manufacturing process. It also means the product body itself can be recycled at the end of its use or life for the manufacture of other items.
